Patricia Williams Circle
To help others in need and enjoy
Christian fellowship.
Great Christian fellowship, meaningful devotions, sharing information about Sanctuary programs and community opportunities, supporting various mission projects and helping those in need define this women's circle. The circle started in our old church on 5th Street about 40 years ago! We make Lydia bags for women in prison, make and deliver Christmas cookies to shut-ins and provide financial support for an "adopted" local family. We also save grocery receipts, which provide funds to support VIM, the pastor's needy fund and Methodist Camps for Children.
Bring a sandwich and join the meetings on the second Tuesday of each month in the lounge, 12 noon - 2 p.m., September through June. Beverages, snacks and dessert are provided.
Circle of Friends
To enjoy fellowship with women of all
ages and to use our gifts and graces to support
mission projects, which we select.
Prayer and devotion start our time together. Having fun is key, whether we assemble Christmas cookie trays or Easter baskets for fundraisers, make soup for shut-ins, or listen to a guest speaker. Come join the fun!
Meetings are held in the lounge on the fourth Thursday of the month, 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., September through May. Childcare is provided.
Shawl Ministry
The Shawl Ministry knits shawls to comfort and warm people who are going through difficult times. Our shawls are also given to celebrate births, marriages and other joyous occasions. Besides knitting prayers among the purls, we enjoy the conversation around the table and learning from one another.
The Shawl Ministry is active year-round and meets at Sanctuary on the first Wednesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Volunteers also help by delivering shawls to the recipients.
Knit Wits
Our women's group knits or crochets items such as baby blankets, baby clothes, afghans, lap rugs and preemie hats. These items are distributed to area hospitals and nursing homes through Child, Home and Community and other organizations. The "wit" part is about enjoying conversation, company and the craft!
Meetings are held in the members' homes the third Monday of the month, 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., year round, with each individual bringing a sandwich. The hostess provides a beverage and dessert.
Inspired View Book Club
This book club is an opportunity for women to fellowship in an open and informal discussion of fiction and nonfiction Christian books. All are welcome as this group reaches out into the community. The group meets the third Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the Montgomeryville Barnes & Noble bookstore.
