Mission
The mission of Sanctuary Nursery School is to help the pre-school child develop spiritually, mentally, physically and socially in a Christian atmosphere. The teachers will work with the child both as an individual and as a member of the group. We offer small class size and emphasize that learning is fun.
Two and a Half Year Old Playgroup
Children entering this class must be 2 1/2 years old by September 15th. The 2 1/2 year old playgroup comes Mondays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m.-12:00 noon. Our play group objectives include learning to share, play with others, sitting and listening to stories and following simple classroom routines.
Three Year Old Class
Children entering this class must be 3 years old by September 15th. The 3 year old students come Mondays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m.-12:00 noon. The morning includes free play, craft, lesson, stories and music; each relating to the
topic of the day.
Four Year Old Class
Children entering this class must be 4 years old by September 15th. The 4 year old students come Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30 a.m.-12:00 noon. Their morning includes small group and large group Teacher directed activities, crafts, week themed lessons, stories and music; all correlating to the topic of the week. The 4 year old class will also go on several field trips throughout the year upon completion of themed units. Our goal is to help the children develop academic skills, independence and confidence needed for success in kindergarten.
Pre-Kindergarten Class
Children entering this class must be 5 years old by January 1st. The class meets on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The Pre-K class benefit from the large group experiences in the morning with the 4 year old class as well as the small group in the afternoon. The afternoon program expands upon the morning lessons as well as refining small motor skills needed for kindergarten. The Pre-K program will emphasize academic and social skill development for Kindergarten readiness.
