"Use your money to do good. Be rich in good works and give generously to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given. By doing this you will be storing up treasure as a good foundation for the coming age so that you may take hold of the life that is truly life."

Volunteers in Missions

vim Sanctuary's mission trip programs allow all of us to put our talents to work and serve God. Typical work involves repairing houses for the needy, teaching Vacation Bible School at disadvantaged churches, helping in food banks or soup kitchens, and renovating churches. Teams do God's work for one to two weeks in the winter and one to two weeks in the summer, plus any additional special projects such as disaster-relief efforts in the aftermath of natural disasters. Other groups in the church help to support the trips financially. This is a great way to serve others and allow God to use us for His purpose and glory.

For information about upcoming mission trips, please see our Volunteers in Missions page here.

Bazaar

bazaar Sanctuary's bazaar raises funds for missions and outreach programs in the community, allowing us to do God's work beyond the doors of Sanctuary. During this event, rooms are set up in the church to sell baked goods, used books, wood items, candy, attic treasures, handicrafts, sewn items, and toys. The bazaar also features a country store. Members of our congregation lovingly make many of the crafts, baked goods and candies. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served during this event. The bazaar occurs biennially.

Nor-Gwyn Food Cupboard

nor-gwyn The Nor-Gwyn Food Cupboard provides weekly food supplements and supplies to local families who are in need. Sanctuary United Methodist Church is one of four North Wales churches that rotate on a monthly basis to stock the cupboard, which is housed in St. Luke's United Church of Christ. In addition to weekly food and supply distributions, holiday boxes are provided at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.

Thanksgiving Baskets/Giving Tree

holiday The Thanksgiving Baskets and Holiday Giving Tree ministries are an opportunity for the church family to help needy families in our surrounding communities by providing meals, clothing and gifts during the holiday season. The Thanksgiving Baskets provide families with a complete Thanksgiving meal through donations by Sanctuary's church family. During the Christmas season, the Giving Tree is used for donors to purchase gift cards for families to use toward Christmas gifts for their children. Both ministries are well-received by grateful families who may be struggling financially.
