"Use your money to do good. Be rich in good works and give generously to those
in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given. By doing this
you will be storing up treasure as a good foundation for the coming age so that you
may take hold of the life that is truly life."

Bazaar
Sanctuary's bazaar raises funds for missions and
outreach programs in the community, allowing us to do
God's work beyond the doors of Sanctuary. During this
event, rooms are set up in the church to sell baked
goods, used books, wood items, candy, attic treasures,
handicrafts, sewn items, and toys. The bazaar also
features a country store. Members of our congregation
lovingly make many of the crafts, baked goods and
candies. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served during
this event. The bazaar occurs biennially and takes place
this year on November 7th. For information about the commitees and contact information for this year's bazaar, please see the Bazaar page here.
Volunteers in Missions
Sanctuary's mission trip programs allow all of us to
put our talents to work and serve God.
Typical work involves repairing houses for the needy,
teaching Vacation Bible School at disadvantaged
churches, helping in food banks or soup kitchens,
and renovating churches. Teams do God's work for
one to two weeks in the winter and one to two weeks
in the summer, plus any additional special projects
such as disaster-relief efforts in the aftermath of
natural disasters. Other groups in the church help to
support the trips financially. This is a great way to
serve others and allow God to use us for His purpose
and glory. For information about upcoming mission trips, please see our Volunteers in Missions page here.
Interfaith Hospitality Network
The Interfaith Hospitality Network is an
organization within our community that provides
comfort and aid to homeless families. During the
month of August, Sanctuary supports Interfaith by
housing homeless families in the Sunday School
classrooms. We provide meals as well as other
support services to help the families find permanent
housing and regain financial footing.Nor-Gwyn Food Cupboard
The Nor-Gwyn Food Cupboard provides weekly food
supplements and supplies to local families who are in
need. Sanctuary United Methodist Church is one of
four North Wales churches that rotate on a monthly
basis to stock the cupboard, which is housed in St.
Luke's United Church of Christ. In addition to weekly
food and supply distributions, holiday boxes are
provided at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.Season of Sharing
Season of Sharing provides the congregation with an
opportunity to contribute to our local community
organizations and beyond during the Advent season.
Four organizations are chosen by the team, one for
each week of Advent, and lists of their needs are
compiled. Contributions can be in the form of
financial donations, gift cards or material items such
as toiletries. Season of Sharing information is
communicated to the congregation in the December
newsletter, weekly bulletins and a showcase display.
Items are collected in the narthex on Sunday and
delivered during the next week.
